ABR
Adaptive Bit Rate streaming - A video streaming technology that runs over HTTP and adjusts the quality of the media stream based on available bandwidth and CPU.
CDM
Content Decryption Module - Software which implements digital rights management (DRM).
CMAF
Common Media Application Format - A relatively new format for packaging and delivering various forms of HTTP-based media. This standard simplifies the delivery of media to playback devices by working with both the HLS and DASH protocols to package data under a uniform transport container file.
DASH
Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP - An adaptive bitrate streaming technique that enables high quality streaming of media content over the Internet delivered from conventional HTTP web servers. Works by breaking the content into a sequence of small segments which are served over HTTP.
EAS
Emergency Alert System - A national warning system in the United States designed to allow authorized officials to broadcast emergency alerts and warning messages to the public via television and radio. Supported by Senza via the Message Manager.
FAST
Free advertising-supported television - channel streaming services that offer traditional television programming ("live TV") and studio-produced movies without a paid subscription, funded exclusively by advertising.
HDCP
High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection - A form of digital copy protection developed by Intel to prevent copying of digital audio and video content as it travels across connections. Supported by both the local player and the remote player.
HDMI
High-Definition Multimedia Interface - The protocol for the video cable that connects the cloud connector to your television.
